Making a movie about a well known historical character is no easy feat. Many people have a set idea about that historical person, and it always runs the risk of going wrong. How can a filmmaker condense someone’s life into one movie? The results are often muddled and reviews can be harsh.
It can sometimes be because an actor can’t seem to capture the charisma of the historical figure, the acting or directing may be awkward, or the movie makers may be afraid of doing it wrong. When it’s done right, the result can really great.
